THE RIDER

At Serendipity Dressage, the responsibility of good training starts with the rider. Without a centered, balanced seat, a strong core and a sensitive hand, the horse is unable to perform at his full potential. These attributes are achievable through careful, correct repetition, under Stephany’s watchful eye. We focus on the rider’s ability to produce the steps of the Scale of Training, developing the rider’s leg, seat and hand aids so that they work together in a forward, harmonious manner. With her strong belief in the importance of biomechanics, Stephany works with Mary Wanless and Heather Blitz whenever possible to continue her own education, and develop new ideas for teaching others.

With our riders, we focus on developing both the tools to ride well and the understanding of the theory behind the riding. Understanding the reason why something is being done creates confidence in the rider, and the ability to repeat it at a later time. Stephany’s strong teaching abilities give her the capacity to adjust her teaching to each student’s learning style, whether it be auditory, visual, or through repetition. Whether you are a beginner to dressage or riding at an advanced level, Serendipity Dressage has a learning opportunity to fit your needs.
