Dr. Carlos Cortelizzi - Dr. Carlos Cortelizzi, a veterinary chiropractor and acupuncturist from Columbia, has an amazing way with the horses, and they immediately feel comforted in his presence. The theory that Dr. Carlos puts forth is that you first fix the topline of the horse. If everything is in alignment in the topline, this should eliminate most problems. Any residual issues most likely come from the legs and feet, and may be corrected from that end. For a year and a half, Dr. Carlos has been making tremendous strides in the Serendipity horses, giving advice on everything from feeding to farrier work (don’t worry, he’s been a farrier, too!). With regular visits from Dr. Carlos, we know that your horse will improve.

Jan Field-Byrne - To forward the ideals set forth in the Theories of Training Section, we have several other people on the Serendipity Dressage Team. First is our Pilates Coach, Jan Field-Byrne, a renowned Pilates instructor from England. Jan has been with the Serendipity Team for 2 years now, and does a weekly class right in the barn! It is incredibly relaxing to work on the stretching and core strengthening exercises among the horses. Jan’s bodywork focuses on isolating and strengthening your core muscles, to help you prevent back injury and have better core access while on your horse. She can watch you ride with Stephany, and work in a one on one setting to develop your personal set of exercises.
